Religion and globalisation are the two of the most significant forces in the world today. Religions shape the private and the public lives of people worldwide. Globalisation leads to increased interconnectedness and significant improvements in wellbeing, as well as damaged lives, stunted development of whole cultures, and despoiled environments. Religious communities must grapple with these changes: clarifying the complex relationship between faiths and globalisation is an important task. This course examines cultural, economic, environmental, demographic, political, and religious aspects of globalisation.
